One Beautiful Thing

Readers.
I have been awful, and I've been makin' that excuse since like, October. More like August but whatever.
Blogging has always been one of my favorite things to do. And I need to get back to it--it grounds me, it centers me, it is me. Writing is me, and I love it too much to keep forgetting to do it.
So, here is my pledge to you.
I am going to blog every week for the rest of this year. I know, I know, New Years was two weeks ago, so I'm a little late. BUT, better late than never. And this idea didn't hit me until today.
Every week, I'm going to write about something I found to be beautiful.
It's about recognizing the small things, the beautiful things, and the simple things that make up our life. I forget to look for them. But they make up so much of our existence, and if we only chose to be aware, I think happiness would be so much more achievable.
So, here's to beauty. And simplicity. Enjoy.

1. A Cup of Tea

One Beautiful Thing

A Cup Of Tea

The simplicity in a cup of tea on a brisk January morning is quietly beautiful, silently therapeutic and forever lovely. This chair is hard, solid, reassuring. Soft music plays in the coffee shop and the moment seems incandescently perfect--and if I could, I'd freeze the world right here, right now.
When emotions are high, or stress is overbearing...when hopeless seems to loom around the corner like and unwanted visitor, sometimes this feels like the only way to escape it all. This cup of tea is doing just that.
Today's thing of beauty: A cup of tea.
Try it. You won't be disappointed.
